We are delighted to announce that booking is now open for Gregynog Ideas Lab III 2014. An early bird rate is available for payments of the full fee received by 20 December 2013. Alternatively you can pay a non-refundable deposit now to secure your place, followed by the balance by 20 February 2014. The Gregynog Ideas Lab Summer School ran for the first time in 2012 and was a resounding success. Participants found it “a great thinking space,” “intellectually rewarding and stimulating,” with “a friendly, non-competitive mood, friendly and helpful lecturers, interesting topics.” One participant summed it up as “absolutely amazing: great diversity of activities, ideal number of participants, perfect location.”

Designed as a unique opportunity for graduate students and academics engaged in work in international politics from a range of critical, postcolonial, feminist, post-structural and psychoanalytic traditions to return to key themes and thinkers and to re-examine their own work, advanced methods training will be a key part of the programme, and there will be opportunities for participants to present their own research if they wish. Practical workshops, a series of roundtables, themed seminars based on assigned pre-readings and one-to-one research surgeries by our guest professors provide a week of intensive immersion in these traditions for those new to the field or isolated in their own institutions in a supportive and friendly residential environment.

Our provisional list of guest professors for 2014 is:

o Michael Dillon

o Jenny Edkins

o Kimberly Hutchings

o Tom Lundborg

o Himadeep Muppidi

o Michael J Shapiro

o Erzsebet Strausz

o R.B.J. Walker (tbc)

o Andreja Zevnik
